SW is on to something. Comfy shoes are a must in retail, and a massage too. Retail can be so stressful esp this time of the year. With him working all the time in retail I;m thinking he is a manager of some sort,(even if he is not those of us who work in retail sometimes live there too..lol) soooooooo lets think ... If he is a coffee drinker a funny mug with his name on it.-so every time he uses it he thinks of you and the kids. Reservations for two, to an out of the way place- such as a bed and breakfast place for when he does get time off. Breakfast in bed on Christmas Day, from you and the kids. Gift certificate for his car to be serviced. Personelized pens with refillable ink. Warm coat, hat, scarf or gloves for the winter...So when he has to go out to his car late at night and it's -40 he will think of you.

Get child care for a week or two, just you and him in a really relaxing environment far away from home. Forget "stuff". He's in retail.

You have to come up with the rest!
