Is it really going to be "Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be" like Robert Browning said. How about you and your partner? My husband and I are very apprehensive about traveling down this path to old age. We will be holding hands and walking very carefully.

faith, love, trust, and support, are the strongest ingredients for a lasting relationship for when hard times hit. those will be the ones that will help carry you through it even when it seems hopeless and going on for a long time. my wife and i have been together 30 years, and in that time, there were times when i (we) hit hard times and what i thought was rock bottom and it was her love and faith in my strength (though i myself felt that i didn't have any left) that help me to pull through it and survive. yes, being apprehensive is normal but as long as you have and kept those, even if you had good times and memories, the best is still yet to come cause your still living life.

Having each other will be a wonderful thing, whether you two are walking or not. Having your best friend next to you and time to stop and smell the flowers is what makes it so much better. Don't let fear get in your way..you make things what they will be by your attitude. You will be fortunate and blessed! There are so many that will walk that walk alone.

Hey, Everyday theres something new. My husband passed away 14 years ago. We'd been married 41 years and it was wonderful, but now its just me. I still work and do all the things we used to do, plus I'm involved with the Church. Lifes what you make it. Enjoy. I'll be 76 next month

I’ve been married to the same woman for over fifty years. We get more compatible with age. We aren’t the pretty people we once were but we have found out that what’s inside is worth a hell of a lot more. She’s still the prettiest woman I ever met.

I sure hope so! You are not the only one who is apprehensive about going down this path. Hold tightly to each other, but don't be afraid to try something new. :))

Awwww..... Pumpkin.... that is so sweet!

Yes, I hope that is the way it goes this time. I found the right one. I told him when we met he was the one I wanted to grow old with.

You and your husband will be seeing each other change minute by minute not ten years by ten years. You will grow old gradually. So gradual that you won't notice much of a difference at all !!!!!

If my husband and I can get through the rough spot we are in right now I know that it will be better and I am looking forward to it. He is battling cancer and I am helping him.
