Recently a friend of mine went to the bathroom within minutesof having intercourse because, she had read, women would have the possibility to get a bladder infection if they didn't urinate afterwords. Is this true? I never heard of this.

it is certainly true!

if the man wore a condom then it is less important but its still a good habit to get into.

during intercourse all sorts of bacteria can enter the urethra because or its close proximity to the clit and vagina even if there is just finger penetration urinating will still reduce the chance of infection.

when you urinate it helps flush out the bacteria before it can cause an infection. most people suggest that you urinate within about 15 minutes after sex!

It may be true for some. If you are prone to UTI's then by all means make sure you urinate after having sex. I have been married for over 24 yrs and have been having sex longer then that and have never had a bladder infection. I don't always get up and pee after doing the act.

while attempting out for being pregnant, there's a hospital attempt (very like one you will possibly purchase at a save) that the well being practitioner or nurse will placed some drops of urine directly to objective. while attempting out for bladder infections and issues like that, there's a strip with countless tests on it that the well being practitioner/nurse will dip directly into the urine, and each little attempt sq. will substitute colour. The well being practitioner will then be sure from there notwithstanding if or no longer you have an infection of a few type.

I never heard of that. However, if you hold it too long after you feel (at any time) you need to go, you should go. Holding it for only a few minutes after you should have gone can cause an
infection. As far as I have experienced and know of, it has
nothing to do with intercourse.

I can tell you from lots of personal experience that this is true. Not only should you get up to pee right after sex, you should drink a glass of water (or tea or whatever) to make you pee again soon. I swear this on my grandmother's grave...until I started this practice I kept a UTI all the time.
