I was told not to put her on soy formula because of her sinsitivity. And It absolutely has to be completly lactose free or I will be in the hospital all night.

Similac sensitive is now called Similac Alimentum. Enfamil's equivalent is Nutramigen. My son is on the Nutramigen, the Alimentum made his spitup worse. Regardless, they are both around $25/can.

Is it being discontinued from the store or discontinued all together? They still sell it here where I live, the company just changed the look of the can. Just something I thought of. There might be an enfamil type that is the same..just read the label and look for it to say lactose free.

Edit: my daughter couldn't be on soy or the regular milk based formula. We even tried the similac sensitive and it still was a no go so we had to use similac alimentum. It's super expensive but maybe you could give it a try. It's a hypoallergenic formula. I don't know how your baby would take to it. Maybe try calling the dr office and ask the dr on call. There should be a doctor on call after office hours and ask him/her what you should do.

Here is a lactose-free formula by Similac.

It says it is now Similac Sensitive. So maybe your store was just out of it. Did you try asking if they had anymore? Because if that is the only lactose-free formula then you will have to change brands. Or here is a soy formula http://welcomeaddition.com/product4.aspx
Did you look for the Similac Sensitive R.S.?

Each of the major companies (any many of the store brands) offer a lactose-free formula. Just get a small container of one to start with until you can speak with your doctor again.

It was called Similac Lactose free, but now it is called Similac Sensitive. They have it, just look it is there, ask the store person for help.

Where do you live because I live in Cols, Ohio and Similac Sensitive is sold everywhere. I know because that is what my daughter is on. I just bought some yesterday at the local Target. They have it at Babies r us too. You might want to look online at either of those places!

There's no lactose in soy formula. You could try a hypoallergenic formula like Alimentum or Nutramigen.

go to walmart and get parents choice lactose free.
it is lactose free which is what you need and it is also about half the price of the more popular brands! the pediatricians say as long as the formula has the vitamins it is sufficient.
