It was a joke (although I did fancy him at one stage) and I think its back fired.

Only to a limited degree. If there are cells from the root of the hair present, then it is more likely that they will have enough DNA to identify the person it came from. However, tests like this are expensive, and they have to have YOUR genetic profile to match it to - if you don't provide it, it is not possible. As this is not a criminal matter, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Yes pubic hair can be used to identify people...if they already have a sample of your DNA (Don't you watch CSI??)..
And the likelihood of his ordinary joe soap policeman friend having the priveleges to use the sophisticated machinery required ?? ........Not very likely at all..
