it wasn't unusual in the 1800's for a woman to marry at 13-14 and have children right away- most only lived to be 35 and most children died- I assume that's why they had so many.

i heard of a 9 year old girl who was pregnant (i don't know if she actually had the child or not) but it was because she was raped, i think...it must be the same person as the peson abovev me said...
