Sometimes men have a late mid-life crisis, they see that their youth is gone, they are nearing retirement and they start to feel that their life has slipped away or that they haven't acccomplished what they intended. It may not be the right thing to do, but they decide to see if they can find a new life, maybe recapture some of the feelings they had as a younger person. To do this they may want to leave their marriage and live independently. They may find someone eventually and marry again, especially when they find that being single late in life is not all that much fun. Most divorced men of any age remarry within 2-3 years.

I agree with shadow men it's not only men that insist on a divorce. This is the new wave of divorce. Couples that have been together for more than 20 years and get divorced.

They have a higher chance of re-marring. I think the number one reason they wait is for all the children to be out of the house. They feel their obligations and responsibilities to each other are no more.

No Fault Divorces - Our society makes it so easy to get divorced and it is acceptable. Before you only heard of a younger generation getting divorced now everyone is getting divorced.

Where are our values. believes, and morals. What are we symbolizing as a society.

They have either had it with the nitpicking or are having a midlife crisis or the wife has asked them to file for divorce.

My BIL was married 26 years when his wife divorced him. He admittingly, started spending more time at the sports bar than at home because he was tired of being yelled at. Then she got angry because he remarried (12 years later). No pleasing some people. He's a great BIL btw.

Some men feel as if things are done, things are some what the same.Things haven't changed for them for who their with,at some point things have to turn in some way.Just like most women, men get the same way.Varies from person to person, they have their reasons. But some re-marry and others just stay single for that so called freedom.

Not all men who have been married 25-30 years get a divorce, the problem is that a lot of them are going through their mid-life crisis, and want to feel young again, but they end regretting the divorce, because they had everything before, and give it up for a young gold-digger!

i love this question...maybe because his wife doesn't put out...doesn't look like the wife he married by putting on 50 lbs of fat...is not his friend anymore...and above all doesn't get his penis hard anymore...and is just plain bored...now his girlfriend on the other hand is younger, firmer and puts out like crazy.

most of the time its the girl who is fooling around and leaves. it's because of all the lust that is in some men's makeup...you know the assholes of the world that makes out with anything that walks and cares nothing about if she is married or not...and maybe she is bored also.

so keep your sex fresh and entertaining..if you don't know how read a book....keep in shape....and be a friend to your mate. good luck you will need it.

Perhaps because women in general tend to get so involved in the "raising of the kids" that once the kids are raised, the couple realize that they no longer are a couple....they're just estranged ex-parents.

That's why it's SO vital while you are raising kids to remember that you are a WIFE and a WOMAN before you are a mother.....and long after, too.

I think you will find that it is the woman in most cases that instigates divorce. Men are quite happy to coast along , but women say they want "me time". Whatever that is.

They get divorced because the love that their wife promised them in marriage is not there any more.
