How come i lag?

Question

I play starcraft :brood war multi player and i cant host anygames because my latency is to high. I play in the east server and live in tennessee. and i have comcast cable internet 100/10 so what is the problem with my lag i also have a linksys router

There are many possible reasons.

1) not enough memory on your machine

2) too many other things running in the background (those little icons on the bar at the bottom of the screen)

3) you click on things in emails or websites that have loaded spyware on your machine

4) one of the many machines betwen you and the server is lagging
