Officials, and websites say its better to be at the computer with the lights on, or it can be very hard on your eyes if at the computer for more than like half an hour. But personally I have them off, it always seems like movies and games such things look much more detailed without the glare from the lights.

Light on when I am on the desktop, because it looks nice, and because I get bad eyestrain. We have levelled lighting. A soft lamp on the desk and a floor standing lamp at the side of the desk.
The desk light goes off when we are watching a DVD, but when we are sat at a distance (its a 19inch screen WOOP).
if i'm in bed on my laptop then the lights are sometimes off.

The light has to be on otherwise I get a headache and my eyes start to hurt for alittle bit.

I never learned to type & wouldn't be able to find the letters on my keyboard if the lights were off. :S

On - but generally only side lights - not the overhead one.
