Well if you download large files via bit-torrent, don`t forget you share those files as you download them, so essentially you double the amount of usage.
E.g. Last month I downloaded two 7GB files, so I ended up using 28GB for those torrents. All in all with other downloads, I used up 52GB. I only had a 5GB download limit with BT, so I`m swopping for AOL as Sky has run out of spaces for a free connection in my exchange.
No 40GB isn`t enough if you are a heavy downloader and uploader. I think ISPs should give us at least 80 or 120GB a month, or everyone go unlimited. Its isn`t fair they should cap us when our line can only handle 1.5Mbps, and we pay the same as those with 5Mbps or 8Mbps, as they download large files faster and so use less bandwidth.
Still, musnt grumble.

For the average person 40gb is more than sufficient. However you must realise that the 40gb consists of file downloads, web pages, email sent and recieved etc etc etc. Basically if you send or recieve data it eats into your monthly allowance. If your just browsing and downloading songs then unless you have a mad urge you should be ok. Movies....well thats a different matter, especially if your getting them from a p2p site. As already mentioned your usage can double.
Oh by the way if you can get 8Mb d/l speed then your doing well. 8Mb is the theoretical maximum. In reality though you'll be doing well if you get half that even on a good line. Take into account signal degregation, distance, other people on line etc and your looking at around about 2 - 2.5Mb

hi mate
it all depends on the amount of downloading you do over a monthly period, although 40gb is a massive amount of data to download, however with download speeds coming near 1mb per second i should imagine 40gb will easily get filled when these speeds become the norm
gp to http://www2.bt.com/static/i/btretail/consumer/broadbandusage/index.html,just enter the details of your download usage and then you will get a total amount used at the bottom, you will be very suprised how much you can download with a 40gb download cap
thats why most i.s.p,s give unlimited downloads,as they know most users will only download around 20 to 30gb which is acceptable ,and well within most other download limits
good luck mate !

We use the Unlimited Sky broadband package and it is good for what we can get in our area. Remember just cause they offer you an up to speed does not mean you get it. Do a test on this site to see what you really get.

No point paying for something you don't get.
40gb should be okay they will soon let you know if you are over the limit.

Typically online games use about 36 MB of data per hour and 1024 MB is equal to 1 GB. So if you play 6 hours a day, that's only 216 MB a day. If you played for 6 hours a day, everyday of the month, you'd only end up using about 6.5 GB of data.

yes that is plenty! 8mbps is a good speed, and 40gb per month should be way enough, so long as you arent downloading entire films and stuff like that.

Hi there,
I downloaded Mad Caps for free here: http://bitly.com/1BDAUZG
it's a perfectly working link!
You must do several fun things to succeed in Mad Caps, like shooting bullets with different kinds of guns, collect the letters to find hidden words, etc.

For one person that's loads.
If you never turn your PC off you may have a problem. It averages out at around 16Kb/s.
For heavy browsing you'd hit a max of 1Kb/s.
Aslong as you don't go stupid and download like 60 movies you wont hit your limit.
