there is not such thing as maturity or immaturity.

there are stupid and serious people. if you are serious about rape, people will call you mature. but if you make fun of rape, then you will be called immature. chidren arent born evil, they are raised in that way. which means that they lack the specific knowledge. children are already mature (serious for me), they will cry when there is a starving person on the TV.

I'll try to add clarity where there seems to be none. Basically it means that you make responses to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate manner; ones that are reasoned or learned rather than impulsive. Another way of putting it is being independently able to conduct oneself appropriately socially and morally by using rational thought to the benefit of oneself and others consistently.
