so, i have a hot tub (out door) and for my friend's birthday, we were going to cook her dinner, then we were going to go into my hot tub. However, there is leaves and stuff that got inside, so we have to clean it out. If we clean it out at 10, start heating it at 11 (AM) will it be ready by, say, 6 that night? by the way, its about 35 degrees outside, so thanks for your answers!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but No it will not be ready. If you havea 5.5kw heater and it is hooked up as 240v the most your going to get is a rise of 7 degrees an hour... so seven hours will put it around 84 degrees... If you havea plug in style hot tub it is running at 115 -120 volts and will take 4 times longer. You will have water that you can get into comfortably by 10-11 pm. Assuming your hot tub is covered and well insulated. Of course 80% of hot tubs made are not well insulated.

You should have no problems getting it up to temperature.

Where are you located that it is 35°?

I would certainly hope so. Something's wrong with your heater if not.
