With outdated oils the recommended change interval was 3,000 miles. Modern oils are good enough that they can go a lot longer and some brands like Amsoil can go to 10,000 miles. Unless you drive the car extremely hard then I'd just follow the recommendations from Honda. On my '94 Civic they recommend a change every 7500 miles.
Here's an article on NYC taxis that went 3K, 6K, and 12K between oil changes. No difference in wear was found but they don't recommend going longer than the manufacturer recommends.

I have a 1999 accord V6... i change mine every 3000miles of any driving... the only thing you gotta make sure is that your car doesn't eat oil. You should also use 10w-40 oil ( i recommend Castrol) if you change your oil on time everytime your car will last you a lifetime... and especially a honda accord with i-Vtec

oil should be changed about every 3,000 miles or 6 months. You can always check your owners manual and see what it says. Surprisingly in my 1991 honda accord the owners manual said every 7,000 miles but i Always changed it at 3,000 miles. Trust me its bad on your engine if you dont change the oil enough.

changing it every 4,000 to 5,000 miles isgood for the car, waiting more miles to pass, the more problems the engine will give later on.
