Bush actually is not a NeoCon, although many of his key underlings have been. Bush has no true ideology other than "I wanna be Prez Daddy. "The "Bush Doctrine" was/is nothing more than a cowboy like, "let's smoke 'em out", childish and bullying view of the world, where diplomacy is unnecessary, for weaklings. Bush really believed, I think, that the rest of the world would cower under the "you're either with us or you're against us" threat.
The NeoCons, on the other hand, believe in spreading Democracy around the world and think it is our RIGHT AND RESPONSIBILITY to use our military power to do so. They have been successful in taking advantage of Bush's simplistic "doctrine" to get him to push democracy through force; i.e. conning him into promoting their militaristic NeoCon objectives.
Sad commentary on the American government and how it can get lost. I wonder if any lessons will be learned for the future.
It's interesting to read the respondents who never heard of the Bush Doctrine and act like you're trashing Bush by using the term. Wonder if those people ever read the newspapers. Bush pushed the term constantly after 9/11, but has since backed off because his actions under the "doctrine" have looked so foolish.

I didn't know there was a Bush Doctrine, And here i am a conservative me entire adult life, I guess you have to be one of these new conservatives to know about that.
I also didn't know that so many Americans hated other Americans. I thought we all saluted the same flag and that we all believed that we were citizens of the greatest and most free country in history.
I guess you don't think that. but I know you can disagree with others and not hate them. Now what is it you wanted to know about diplomacy?

The Bush Doctrine exists only in the minds of paranoid liberals. Try to get a grip. The answer to the question is no. There is no Bush Doctrine. There is also nothing to substantiate your claim that this administration is anti-democratic.

Go to Marin County, observe how the city supervisors operate, determine their party affiliation, and then ponder democracy.

They are just simply mean, fat pizza gobblers. Look at how incredibly nasty they are. Most can't spell and they all seem to hate with an amazing veracity

You got it right on target. There is nothing more evil on the face of this planet exists or ever existed than Republican Neocons. They are worse than Fascist. They are against anything humane. they are against any democracy, against anything good and decent. They keep spreading their lies and deliberately misleading propaganda. Their God is $. That is the only thing they believe in.
