I am overweight and pregnant with #2. I have had no complications due to my weight. I eat healthy and have not passed on any diseases to my daughter or my son according to all the tests I have taken so far.

being severely overweight can increase your risk of high blood pressure and gestational diabetes, but as long as you don't gain too much weight, you are at no bigger risk than a slim woman as long as you are eating healthy during your pregnancy. eating right, taking vitamins and doing moderate exercise are what make the difference. pre-pregnancy weight is less of a factor than most people think.
