I am 26 weeks pg and have had 2 ultrasounds. I Was wondering if twins could go unnoticed for that long with 2 ultrasounds. It's just that I am bigger than I should be for how far along I am-(measuring two centimeters larger than norm and already gained 25 pounds and was already technically overweight. I eat right and healthy. Plus Thje first time they checked the heartbeat it was 155 the second time was 135 then the third time, this last time, it was back to 150 something. Could there be two in there switching places or somethin??

At this stage they would definately see 2 babies. My baby's heartbeat was all over the place at each of my ultrasounds. First it was 170, then it went to 122 and then to 160. I guess some women are bigger than others as each one is different. Congratulations and good luck.

Yes a few people in my family had twins and didnt know till right at the very end. I guess one twin kind of blocks the other you could say. I wouldnt worry about it to much at 26 weeks you would be quite larger than most and your doctor would suspect something was up I am sure.

You're carrying one baby, you are probably just farther along than what you or your doctor thinks. I always measure a week ahead of where I'm at.

By now you would have noticed TWO distinct heart beats and TWO babies. Baby's heart beats fluctuate. My little guy's has been up to 170 and now it's around 153.

Unlikely that twins would go unnoticed with todays tecnology.

I did have a friend who found out she was having twins on the delivery table...but that was 30 years ago...

i'm no longer likely to sound like all different people who've spoke back you. actual talking, do no longer do this returned guy. this is in basic terms no longer stunning by any potential and if your twin brother catches you in that closet, you're executed for.

Normal fluctuations in heart rate...normal to be 2 cm ahead...remember that the average measurement is just that...average...

No, they'd know by now. Very unlikely.

it can if they are right behind each other, and there heart beats are beating together. you can measure, i think it was up to 3cm diff. babys heart beats can change with your mood, happy, sad, upset, mad, anything. and the weight thing, everyone is diff. don't sweat it. enjoy it.
