I'm not a college kid but I like to keep myself fit, I go to the YMCA in central Boston Huntington Avenue, and that place is a real mess: nasty front desk people, many high school kids screaming, using the equipment, using the pool, swearing. I want to quit, and go to another gym, any advice ?. Thanks.

Try this gym. It was named the best health club in Boston by CitySearch in 2007.

Revolution Fitness
209 Columbus Ave
Boston, MA 02116
(617) 536-3006

The facility makes it easy for non-members to try. From CitySearch: "Nonmembers are welcome to use the gym; a one-day pass costs $20, one week costs $45."

CitySearch's editorial review: This place has its own attitude, and it's a good one. With a professional 30-something crowd, this is a serious place for keeping in shape and making new friends. The machinery, which includes HammerStrength, Icarian and Nautilus, is top-notch. The staff is appropriately supportive and classes include high-intensity, dance-oriented aerobics, tai chi and CardioSpin indoor cycling.
