I currently claim Income Support due to severe health issues. I'm due a payment on the 27th but with people off on strike etc I'm unable to call and ask if this date will change because of Christmas.

Can anyone please advise if they are in the same situation or know if December 27th payment will change? Thanks :)

ETA: I'm in the UK - I'm only asking as I'm attempting to budget for Christmas and if the payment was made earlier than the 27th it would come in very handy for some special christmas luxaries.

As most benefits are paid straight into the claimants bank accounts I would not think there would be any change. It will only affect new claims.

I assume that benefits are paid earlier over the Xmas period if they are paid directly into the bank. I would think that postal benefits will be paid earlier as well as it's the 27th before the posties go back to work so any giro cheques would need to be posted out before Christmas. Try the benefits agency website it may be able to give you more info.
