what is the purpose of Ferric Bromide and what does it do.?

meaning what is is used for and does it do anything to the human body? its for a science project.

It is used as a catalyst for bromination and certian other organic reactions. There doesn't seem to be any medical uses; it is listed as an irritant

First response is sound. The stuff could be used as a mild oxidizing agent, reducing the ferric to ferrous.
