OMG-- I am at work right now and this man brought his 5 year old daughter in the bathroom with him. I work at a dance studio-- the bathroom is just a single bathroom, one toilet with one sink. I was just wondering if this was strange or is it normal for dads to take their lil girls in the restroom too?? Hummm...

What is the difference if a mom takes her 5 year old son in the bathroom..i think you are not a parent and as a parent myself i never left my son unattended while i went to the bathroom in any public place...i rather him come in the bathroom with me opposed to someone kidnapping him

have you ever heard of a single parent father? sometimes a child may have a medical condition or another issue and may need help SO you guess that all men who are attentive to their child have dirty motives, man I am so glad I don't know such an insensitive person like you...men are different today, we change diapers, we take care of children, it is npt just a woman's job to do these things keep away form me by the way the latest wave of molesters have been women watch the news...and now what about you??????

It is normal. YOU are making it a dirty thing. I suppose it better to leave a child alone in the open so they can run off or get snatched. Mothers, by the way, ALWAYS take their little boys into the bathrooms with them. There is NO ILL intent in either case. Just being a parent, stop making it something it is not!!

Let me ask you this....
If you had a daughter who is 5, and your husband and her are out at the store, and if either one had to use the rest room, would you want your daughter either let in the restroom by herself or standing out side the door while your husband used the restroom?

There is nothing wrong with it. I used to do it all the time...
Just being protective of my child and this dad was doing the same....

In today's society the parents will do anything to protect their children.....

I guess it depends. If it was an unsafe situation (someone might snatch the child while you're in the bathroom, etc) I'd say bring her in and have her face the wall! Or if the child has learning problems, etc. which make them more likely to wander away if left unsupervised. But if it's a safe place, and the child is not going to wander, I'd say leave her outside!

What was he going to do? Risk someone kidnapping his child? You don't know what happened behind closed doors. I think there are so many sickos out there that men who are trying to protect and raise their daughters are being unnecessarily scrutinized.

If the child would have screamed that would be a different story!

I believe that you weren't trying to make it a "dirty thing" but it is either he leaves her out in the open, even if you are the only one there, he doesn't know you or he takes her in the bathroom.

Of course he should take her in with him at that age, as long as it's not a urinal with men in there. He can't send her off into a toilet on her own with a load of strange people she doesn't know. He's looking after her correctly.

If the little girl had to go to the bathroom where else would her father take her? He certainly couldn't take her in the ladies room. Mom's bring their sons in the ladies room all the time.
