BARQUISIMETO, Venezuela - A new voice has emerged to challenge Hugo Chavez's push to turn Venezuela into a socialist society, someone with rare insight into the president's passions and vulnerabilities: his ex-wife.

Marisabel Rodriguez says her return to the public spotlight is not a personal vendetta.

"This fight is not against a single person," she said in an interview at her home with The Associated Press

Thanks for the info bro. There will be a line to spit on him like they did in Italy. This isn't our battle but the worlds. But since the world(U.N.) doesn't seem to care.We need to help those that want to cast off the shackles of oppression. We must never forget we had help(Thank you to France). So we need to return the favor as much as possible.
Some people think that we(America) don't have to.Like Kennedy said."We chose to help...Not because it's we have to but, because we must".(Ok so I toke some liberties with his moon mission speech - so sue me).

I was a USAF cryptographer in WW2. I’m now in my 80’s

At this age there is a heckuva lot of stuff I DO NOT KNOW.

(Just the same as the rest of you here, whatever your age.)

But there’s a lot of stuff I do know a lot about. International Socialism is one of them.

For YOU to minimize or negate the dangers of international socialism
is for you to negate the result of the BIG World War 2.

Do you want to take on this responsibility OR think, ask questions, study?
Perhaps even pray you are doing the right thing?

A first step might be to study the website
www.victimsofcommunism.org

You might not have read about the Memorial placed in Washington DC, just
this past summer of 2007. remembering the one hundred million citizens
of the world, murdered, not by an enemy nation but by their own socialist
governments because they were ENEMYS OF THEIR OWN NATION.
during the bloody socialist butcher block of the twentieth century.

You have a choice. Post another unthinking dumb post,
OR
Ask questions, study, think, pray if you feel like it,
BUT do not repeat the socialist butcher block of our past century.

ASK QUESTIONS.

At least she is going to stay there and help her own country rather than flee here. Kudos to the lady!!!!
I do not know about the Socialism part but she could be an ally and that could be a good thing.

Exes are always the first to know how screwy their former spouses are. But in Chavez's case, we all know now.

I hope she runs against him. I'd buy tickets to watch. :)

She might want to hire some body guards to protect her from having an "accident".

Is this a struggle against Canada?

The problem here isn't socialism. Chavez doesn't want to set up a moderate socialist regime like those in northern Europe. The problem here is that Chavez wants to set up a Cuban-style dictatorship.

Moderate socialism can be good. Dictatorships never are.

Societies based on spreading the wealth are a grave danger to Americans.
Hopefully we can invade soon.
And rid the world of this scourge.
Like we did in Vietnam.
When will the Venezuelans learn that Texas oilmen deserve access to their natural resource?
Keep spreading the word, Mr. Global Capitalist.

Yes, she will help.

American Democrats looooooove Chavez...... and hate his wife.

Democrats are hoping for Venezuela to become another North Korea, which they consider their "Motherland".

Global struggle?.....socialism has pretty much died out except for a handful of tiny countries of no consequence.
