I used Mac for the longest time. Then I got a PC and though that I would kill my self because it had so many problems. So, 4 years later I got a MacBook. I have to say it is the best thing I ever did. I do video editing, photo editing, word processing, and music. The computer is perfect for everything that I do on it. The only thing that I don't like is that it came with 512mb RAM. (my fault) So I have to buy some more.

It's not what we prefer that counts, it'e what YOU prefer:
If you're really asking:
What is the best operating system? They are all different, offer different pros and cons, and fill different needs for different people. For example, Gamers have different needs than Podcasters, etc. I personally believe that the best operating system is the one that you LIKE to use and that meets ALL your needs. That is the bottom line.
If your really, really asking:
Is a MAC worth the price? Try this experiment: Price out a MAC at www.apple.com Then, price out a virtually hardware identical PC at www.Dell.com, www.hp.com etc. Then, add Vista Ultimate (like OS X), M$-Office (Neo-Office free for OS X), Norton Internet Security (no known OS X malware), Back up software (Included in OS X), and any other software you may need on the Windows PC (Likely free on OS X).
Then, compare prices, I believe you will find that the Mac PRICE will be very close.
Finally, go to an Apple Store and take one for a test drive, ask LOTS of questions and then, decide for yourself.

It's pretty simple. Macs are better computers. So I would prefer a Mac. However Mac's are way to expensive. So when the price is truly competitive I will be getting a Mac

personally i prefer PCs because i like to game on them. it does get a little annoying updating if for virus protection now and then but its really not that bad. i also like PCs because if something goes wrong it is a little easier to fix than with a mac, when you get the tetnicolored spiniwheel of death and your computer freezes.
macs are better because you don't need to update for virus proctection, also it is a much simpler operatin system for someone who does not want to spend alot of time configuring their system. unforutnately the gaming on macs, in my opinion, is not as furfilling as a PC.
just for the record, i use linux.

I changed to a MacBook 18-months ago and have realised it is the best decision I could have made.
Reliable, well built, brilliant to use and above all, it is not a PC!
