What plant did u find it?Get some leaves of the plant where u found it.Put her in a cage suitable for her.Put the leaves inside her cage.Put her cage in ur house.Caterpillars poo, so when she poos in her cage, clean it using tissue, their droppings are round and tiny so don't worry cleaning it.After 2 or 1 or 3 weeks she might turn into a gorgeous butterfly then u can choose if u can still keep her or let her free.

Would be best to release the caterpillar because every kind eats specific kinds of leaves, either from bushes or trees. You might be having a temporary break in the weather so it is best to let it outside to build a cocoon on its own.
Put it back approximately where you found it and maybe in the Spring you will find it as a Butterfly or Moth.
Take a picture of the caterpillar and go to whatsthatbug.com They will identify it for you.
You may even be able to find where it makes the cocoon in your yard.
They make them in plain sight lots of times, but they appear camouflaged to us.

Try giving it a selection of fresh, organic greens. Put it in a container that it cannot get out of. Don't let it get too warm since it has gotten used to the cold. Wait and hope for a butterfly.

The best thing to do with it is let it go. That's always the right thing to do. It isn't cold outside they know where to go they survive through blizzards. Let him go.

I would also suggest making as natural an environment in that container as possible, including some soil, leaf litter (places for it to hide) and some sticks and things for it to walk on and, hopefully, to make a cocoon for itself.
