I am diagnosed with PCO's and on contraceptives and this is my first time. Have to take it for 21 days but they end on december 20th. I am not looking forward to have periods during christmas and want to avoid that. Can I keep taking contraceptives for one more week to avoid tht?
or can i take it alternate days to avoid having periods during christmas?
Give me suggestions from the doctor or nurse point of view please. Thank you.

Yes, sometimes it can be ok to go ahead and skip the placebo pills and start a new pack to delay a period. Some do it for other medical reasons like myself (I use it to treat endometriosis although I also have PCOS). I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see if they think it's ok for you to skip during that week.

Also, if you are low on medication as far as packs you can ask your doctor for sample packs of the medication if they have any available in their office.
