Water intoxication (also known as hyperhydration or water poisoning). As wierd as it sounds many people have died from it, primarily athletes like marthon runners who drink lots and lots of water but dont put the necessary nutrients and electrolytes your body needs. Also it will overload your liver and it can't filter the water fast enough.

No, but it reminds me of all the people who say that pigeons spread disease, yet I have never heard of anyone dying (or being ill) from catching a disease from a pigeon !
just remembered a long time ago an old lady died from being scratched on the leg by her pet cat whilst hanging washing out...it was at the time of mass hysteria of dog attacks, so it was like the cat was trying to get in on the act

People die from the flu all the time. It's not all that uncommon.
And, yes you can die from extreme diarrhea. You can get extremely dehydrated, which can cause your body to start shutting down, eventually causing death.

I know a man whose daughter (nine years old) had a routine outpatient tonsillectomy, then died after she was given a dose of her prescribed pain medication. Her dad gave it to her just before her bedtime, and she was found dead the following morning.
The pharmacist mistakenly filled her prescription with some kind of real potent morphine-type of medicine usually reserved for terminal cancer patients and it killed her.

if you want to see about people dying in unusual ways, go to darwin awards. for example: a man was going "fishing" with a bucket of dynamite. he lit the fuse on the first stick and then accidentally dropped it in the bucket. fisherman-0 fish-1.

You actually can't die of diarrhea, but you can die of dehydration as a result of diarrhea, or from an illness that caused diarrhea. I don't know of anybody who has died from an a common illness or anything strange. All of the deceased people I knew died from cancer, heart attack, or accident.
