nor is there any visitation mentioned. Does this mean that the time is split evenly? Lately my ex has been taking extended vacations and leaving the kids with me and if it is joint shared custody, does this mean I should be compensated for the time away? Just curious. Thanks!

Ask your lawyer.

No it doesn't mean you should be compensated because it is joint shared. You agreed to split the time. Besides, what would you want him to do, leave the kids with a sitter??

If it becomes a huge habit of his you may want to consider going back to court to get primary custody and set up a visitation schedule and support. But if it only lasts a short time then I wouldn't mess with it.

if there is no court order of support then nope you don't get anything. Sounds to me as if you have a 50/50 order of custody/visitation...didn't your lawyer and you talk any of this over before you signed the papers? Why would you sign papers you didn't understand?

Not sure where you live or what yout attorney did, but it's all spelled out in mine, including school vacations...if he's supposed to have them and doens't take them...which he does all the time, he has to pay for the child care for that week or whatever it is.
