i got the baby a 1.5 gal aquarium for Christmas. I already have plant, filter, bubble rock, heater, rocks, and everything else i need to set up..so my Q is, what kind of fish should i get for her? I was thinking maybe a Blue Tang, but IDK if a 1.5 US Gal tank is too small it make a salt water. Is it? and if i do get the tang...will just one be ok by itslef?

I don't know if you are aware of this, but Blue Tangs are saltwater, and, as Ashley said, are not nearly suitable for anything much less than 90 gallons... The only fish you should even attempt in that tank is a single Betta. Instead of a Betta (which can require a bit of maintenance in such a small tank), you should consider freshwater shrimp. Red Cherry Shrimp, Singapore Shrimp, Ghost Shrimp, Amano/Japonica Shrimp, and Bamboo Shrimp would all make great, interesting pets to keep in such a small tank. A bit of Java Moss or any other live plant is home to billions of microscopic organisms that can feed the shrimp (though it is good to give them some kind of food like fish food pellets). Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

no. no. no. 1.5 gallon tank. that is specially desighned for a betta. IK people that even put 1 betta in a 5 gallon tank. and you cant have saltwater for it because the filter is not desighned for it. if your going to get a saltwater tank it has to be at least a 30 gallon tank. I wouldnt even get a 1.5 gallon tank for a betta. Id get a 2.5 or a 3. so the betta is your only option. and no. it will not be well alone. and that fish that you want likes a lot of swimming room with other fish.

Oh please don't try to turn that tiny thing into a reef tank. A blue tang grows to be a foot long and needs a 70 gallon tank minimum. Get a betta. Nothing else will live in that setup.

I'm afraid that I will have to give you the bad news that a 1.5g isn't fit for a Tang. It is more appropriate for a betta instead.

1.5g is waaayyy to small for a salt water tank. You need at least 10g and if you want a tang then 20g + depending on the tang.
Your best bet is a shoal of small fish (tetra or minnows or something) or a beta. Go to your local fish store and have a look and see which ones you like then look them up online or in a book an if they stay small then they'll probably be ok.
You could try pygmy puffers too, they're fun. :)

whatever you do...
dont get a blue tang, search Blue Tang on google, will it fit in your tank?
No.
So, get a betta. ONLY ONE. bettas need a MINIMUM of 1 gallon per fish. so only get one.
