Explain why.

I don't have a problem with immigration. It's ILLEGAL ALIENS. They are ruining our economy. It's a fact . I would get strict laws passed nationally to make it a crime to hire them and no social services .
I'd put armed national guard all along the border from California to Texas.

FACT-Mexico does NOT allow illegals in. As soon as they are caught, they are deported. They have NO social services for them. Check it out.

I live in Texas. I would like to renovate the immigration system. to make it easier for people to live here LEGALLY. I do think that people who are going to live here permanently or for any time period should do so legally... eventhough i know & love a lot of deserving, hardworking people who don't. I also know they live in constant fear and that's just not a good way to live.

The green card system we have is a failure. That is truly what needs to be reviewed. People think our border patrol is weak and that is the reason people are living here unchecked. Border patrol isn’t the reason we have a problem. The majority of illegal immigrants are getting here legally; they're just staying here illegally. They come in on green cards. Find jobs. Their green cards expire and they just don't go back home. We need to have a better green-card follow up program. I also think something needs to be done about the fact that it takes YEARS to grant citizenship. I would like people who can pass a medical & written test and a background check to have the opportunity to stay. Why not? It's the land of oppertunity and we can use a hardworking people.

I would round up all the illegals, take their photos and information to start up a database to keep track of them. Then, I would send them back to Mexico. After I sent them all back there, I would erect a ten foot tall, three foot thick concrete barrier. I would top that barrier with triple-strand concertina wire. I would also dig that barrier down into the ground about ten feet to discourage tunneling. In all, this barrier would be about twenty feet high. This barrier would span the entire border that we share with Mexico. I would also pay the Minutemen that volunteer to watch the borders, and hire more border patrol agents, and raise their pay. If these immigrants had proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are legal citizens, and by that, I mean that they have been here at least five years, pay taxes and speak, read, and write in English, they would stay. I have no problem with someone coming here LEGALLY. Why would I take this drastic measure to combat illegal immigration? Because right now, my mother works her *** off for barely a liveable wage and she still does not have health insurance. She cannot afford it, and she is not poor enough for government assistance. An illegal immigrant can go to the hospital right now and not have to pay one red cent, and I feel that is CRIMINALLY WRONG!

It isn't the president who has been lax in facing the immigration issue, it is your elected representatives in the House and Senate ( primarily Democrats) who attached riders to the bill which were wholly unacceptable. So rather face the issue and propose a solution they dropped the solution and the discussion like a hot potato. If I were president and could get SOME of the media on my side I would embarass the hell out of the shirkers These turkeys get paid good money for doing nothing and it is getting progressively worse; witness the legislative bunch from my state,CT.

I'd stringently start enforcing the federal immigration laws and telling states, towns and cities that they are to begin enforcing their immigration laws. If the states and cities did not begin enforcing federal immigration laws within a certain amount of time all of their federal funding would be cut off, period. I would allow the border guards to do their jobs without threat of jail.

Allocate more money for border protection including surveillance, boundaries, and guardsmen. Enforce the laws in place and deport any immigrants who have committed crimes immediately. Give all other illegals a certain amount of time to apply for residence before they are too deported.

I would first secure the border and then begin deporting all of those that came here illegally. I would then enforce the laws we have on the books to prosecute employers that hire illegals.

I would do this not only for the benefit of American citizens but also to protect against these illegals being used as throw away slaves.

Completely shut down all border control operations and disband the agency.
Form a new federal agency called border cross assistance.
All former border agents would be assigned the new duties of assisting all persons regardless of country of origin to cross safely.
Unlimited use of American tax dollars , National Guard, and Reservists and declare by Executive Order " Border Cross Assistance shall employ all personnel, aircraft, watercraft, or land based vehicles required to assist all non-citizens in the safe crossing of our land borders to the south and north as well as our ocean borders to the east and west."
Immediate construction of new roads and bridges from Mexico and Canada to the Promised Land.
Declare by executive order that immediate food, shelter, and priority hiring status to all federal employment positions be issued to the "New Americans"
Declare that all New Americans, upon entry are given all rights, opportunities, privileges, and citizenship status of all other Americans.
All other persons born outside the former borders of the USA, that have previously entered are pardoned in full of previously alleged illegal activities and are also granted full benefits and citizenship status.

Anyone not covered by the orders above are given blanket immunity from prosecution and are declared to be citizens by executive order.

Stop the flow of warmongers to Iraq and get the hell out of THERE. Use our troops to protect OUR borders, especially NOW. Actually the same should have been done right after 911, instead of traipsing all over the Middle East minding business not our own.

I would understand the "ILLEGAL" part of "illegal immigration" and enforce measures to extradite illegals back to their own Countries.
I would also ensure that LEGAL immigrants were respected for earning their place here, unlike ILLEGAL immigrants.
