Is this really the best the Democrats could come up with?

Yes.
It's the best they've got.

Pitiful, isn't it?

A Half-Man/Half Woman, a Muslim, and a Sissy Shyster Lawyer.

And all three are Socialists/Communists that want more of our Paychecks.
It would be funny, if it wasn't so sad.

I don't think you are sincere but I couldn't disagree more. From my point of view, I could pin the tail on the donkey blind-folded and come out great. But I think The Entrenchment has not allowed Edwards to get the coverage he deserves--if we mean to win! I don't say I am committed to any one candidate. I just think with Goons like Leno limiting attention to the $400 haircut--hey, maybe we are lucky there is a Writer's Strike?

I have no idea if these are the best they (I'm Independent), could come up with. But at least they have a larger pool of perspectives to choose from, such as in GENDER, RACE, AGE, BACKGROUND, SOCIAL CLASS, etc., than the Republicans, since all of them are MEN; most are WEALTHY; about the same AGE; more or less have the same RELIGIOUS beliefs, etc.

Am I wrong?

When have the democrats had good candidates out there?

The last time they had someone electable was in 1996. Ever since then, they've had such weak candidates that people like me are forced to vote for Bush twice.

Edwards isn't that bad, it's just that he's fighting somebody like Clinton. He should have won the nomination in '04.

I could ask the same question about Guliani, Romney and Huckabee...

And no, they are not the best democrats in the country... but they'll do.

Well, their list was fairly short this year:
Edwards
Obama
Mr. (Ms.?) Clinton
Pee Wee Herman
Satan
Bill Clinton
