Microsoft Powertoys question?

I keep getting a notification in the Logoff screen on Windows XP that I have unread mail messages, and I heard of Powertoys for Windows XP. On the download page on Microsoft's website, which one do I download to reset that? Can Powertoys be uninstalled from the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel?

You could just read your Emails and the message will go away until the next time.
