Seems to me that if our current laws were and had been enforced we wouldn't have such a big problem.

i'm pretty sure someone in Mexico will figure out how to use wire cutters or a boat...the fence is just an exuce to hand out more fat govt. contracts for something that won't work...kinda like the defense industry

I don't know how a fence will prevent a tunnel. They just found another tunnel the other day.

I like Ron Paul's solution. Enforce existing laws, improve the US economy, and the issue will go away.

Because the slime that jump the border don't care about laws. Yes, they should have been enforced long ago, but we are way past that point now. More drastic measures are needed. A wall is fine, but we need armed (heavily) border guards, with authorization to fire when fired upon, federal charges and prison time for border jumping, followed by immediate deportation. In a perfect world, forced deportation of every illegal already here. But this is not a perfect world, is it? Americans who hire, rent to, or help illegals in any way should face similar penalties. But then again, not a perfect world.

If we here in the United States, would treat the illegal's the same way Mexico treats those that cross their borders illegally, they would stay home and apply for legal status.
The Mexican government does not put up those that enter by illegal means, they go straight to jail for an extended term, yet they expect us to look the other way when their citizens pull that crap here.
We should not only have a large fence, but it should be electrified with about 50k volts, and full of razor wire.

I heard that Mexico is glad, because the fence will stop old american pedophiles from going down south to rape little children.

to keep away mexicans from illegally coming into our country. No problem with mexicans unless they come into our country and take our jobs, and they aren't even supposed to be in the country.
