ok i just heard that my friend went to jail today. hes 24. and i wanted to visit him in the summer. but ppl say i cant because i am not on the list. well how do you get on this list. does he choose who he can see. or does the jail do this. i am under age. 17 years old. but i want to know how many ppl can be on the list. and if i go visit him can i do it by myself or do i have to bring an adult with me. help

if nothing else :
get his public record # from the jail hes in and then you can send him a letter... then he can tell you whats up/how to visit. good luck

They probably aren't going to allow a minor to visit someone in jail, especially if they are not a relative.

Sorry, you're probably going to have to wait till he gets out. Write him a letter.

Normally a prisoner has to choose who he wants to visit him. Then they need to pass a background check. I highly doubt you can visit at your age without being a relative or with parental permission.

The inmate has to put you on his list.If you know were he is at you can go on line and get the phone number there and ask about the age.Also under inmate search you can get his id number and address to write him.Some states are different.
