It is considered part of the continent of Africa although it is not physically attached to Africa. Just as Sicily is part of Italy and Japan is part of Asia.

Yes. Although it's separated from the African continent, the country has many historic and cultural ties to Africa. Madagascar belongs to the African Union, for example.

Yes, it is an island right off the coast. The answer was easily obtainable by simply typing Madagascar into any search engine. You're not lazy, are you?

Yes. It's a huge island off the SE coast. Google it. When you refer to a country, use a capital letter. It's a proper noun. Madagascar.

africa is a continent or a geographical entity. madagascar is a separate country/island on its own. maybe it was part of the african continent at some earlier time. the theory goes that all of the continents were one once.

Yes, it is an African Country.
It has some unique characteristics and animals, enough so that some zoologists study it as a unique ecosystem, like Tasmania.
It is also part of the Tectonic African Plate:

But since it's all arbitrary anyway, you could say it was part of Oceania and who could claim they have authority otherwise...
