H2O can only be separated by Electrolysis into Hydrogen and Oxygen gases.
(Try a glass of water with a touch of lemon juice in it.
Get a 9V battery and connect a wire to each terminal.
Dip both wires into the water (don't let the wires touch each other). Watch the bubbles forming around each wire.
They will be bubbles of Hydrogen from the positive side and Oxygen from the negative side.
Thanks Tim ..Just didn't notice my error ...never mind, the intention was there eh. However, with a battery connection set-up, I may be right as the Battery terminals are giving the 'Conventional Electron Flow' not the 'Actual' and, I think if you look that up, my answer may be correct !.

you can generate a square wave using the program up to 20,000hz and different frequencies behave differently. then i pluged the audio out from the computer into my guitar amp and cranked it up. then i disconnected the speaker in the back and ran longer wires out to the table where i had a glass of water and the other ends of the speaker wires on which i attached some alluminum foil. the trick is to get the wave form to a 0 to +1 wave so you have to put a led ((light emiting diode) or a regular diode that you can buy at radio shack ) in parallel. that means just put one wire on each end of the speaker leads and it will only work one way around so you know. press play and boom bubbles!!! and thats one way do it. or you need to build a circuit board that electronically creates this wave. then you can build a container with electrode tubes and make a system for your car. Im working on one right now!

Electrolysis or high temperatures are the only way. Plants do not make hydrogen. I'd go for electrolysis. H2O isn't going to disassociate at any temperature that you can make unless you happened to have got an A+ in plasma techniques at school.
