Sure! Find people on here who have questions you can answer. That helps both of you!
Volunteer to walk a neighbor's dog -- or your own, if you have one.
Plant cooking herbs and take care of them. First, you'll need to do a little research about which ones you can grow, where to get what you'll need, and all that.
Make cookies. Is there any recipe for cookies you've wanted to try but never had enough time for? Do that one now. Go to www.cooks.com if you need a recipe. They have tons.
Sew buttons onto a sweatshirt. I have one where the buttons make up a fun Christmas tree. People's faces just light up when they see it. It's the oddest thing.
Volunteer to help a neighbor with Christmas doings. If she has small children, offer to babysit free for a couple of hours so she can go shopping. Do a fun Christmas craft with the kids and clean up before she gets home.

I’m sure you've tried video games, and I bet model cars aren't for you. Try beading. You can take from three minutes to three days on a single piece of jewelry. So it does not require any real dedication. Making jewelry is one of the most fun things I’ve ever picked up. Everyone complements on how beautiful your work is, you can make thoughtful gifts, you can sell your work, and if you do wire and bead earrings like I do, you can develop your problem solving skills. Sometimes, I even spend hours on line looking up new ideas, not only am I a crafter, I’m a collector, of beautiful beads. And did you know, you can amaze people with how you know the exact price of the materials used in a Kay jewelers product because threw your search for materials, you discovered that sterling silver, 22 gauge, is only 20 cents and inch. So needless to say, the best part is, unlike crochet, models, puzzles, clay pots, and quilting, IT’S CHEAP.

There are lots of possibilites;-} & not enough time.
My major hobby is model railroading; it has many aspects.
Go to a local Michael's store, they run classes every night.\
Of course they want to sell you their stuff; but it's a start.
