South- better weather and the people are less stressed out compared to the Northeast. The west is ok too.
This is 2007, other than weather and a few pockets of cultural uniqueness here and there, there really isn't much of a difference between the north and the south these days.

Well, I am from Texas living in the Norfolk area of VA (south of Richmond) and I feel like I am living in the North. I really haven't experienced anyone in this region with a southern accent. You can't base the "south" on accents. People expect me, since I am from Texas, to speak like a cowboy. It doesn't happen. The accent denominator to determine who is southern is inaccurate. Usually people consider any state that seceded as "southern." So VA is considered a southern state.

But I've lived in the north. And I've lived in the south. And I've lived in the northwest, and I've lived in the southwest. Right now I'm living in the center. And your question is? The US is a loose confederation of states. In Europe you could call them countries. Most every state has a nuclear reactor, I guess just in case they decide to declare war on a neighboring state.
