My fiancé is about to have major plastic surgery done, by next Friday. She is a size 40F and having back problems cause of the weight. Her health insurance through work is actually paying for it because of the back problems. The doc said the smallest she could go, because of having to restructure/rebuild her body there is a limit to how small they can reduce her breasts, is a 38-40DD. I want to know ahead of time, will this affect her personality at all? We plan on going to the gym a lot more and working out after she's healed; she's always had self-esteem issues. I know this will be a huge boost to her confidence but just curious if there will be more than that.

More than boosting her confidence, it will just make her feel better overall. I've talked to people that have had chronic back pain and they say it is the worst feeling in the world. With that being said, I'm wondering how tall she is because even with the surgery she is still going to be well endowed based on what you described. Definitely work on strengthening the abdominal muscles. Many people who have back problems have weak abdominal muscles. I hope things go well for her.

It affects people differently. She will definitely feel a lot better physically once the added weight is gone. She also may stop being so self-conscious (if she was before) about them being too large.

I will myself be having reconstructive surgery early next year due to breast cancer. I cannot imagine what life would be like if I were not able to have this done. For reasons like that or your girlfriends, I think it's extremely important for them to have it done.

She will feel more comfortable in her body.

NO more back pain.

I went through it Feb 2006 and my fiance and I got through it just fine.

As long as she has you she'll be fine...........I'm thinking about getting mine done too..........it really affects my self esteem..........I think it would make her happier, and it would also be good for you, because I am sure that sometimes you do not know what to say to make her feel good about herself............GOODLUCK with everything
