in halo 3 when you pick up a skull gold/ silver what do you do with it?

in halo 3 when you pick up a skull gold/ silver what do you do with it? it is in my hands but i don`t know what to do now i need help

u just throw it on the floor, you've got the achievement. thats all its for in missions
u can now when u click on campaign click X and activate some of the skulls if you want. makes the game more challenging, and if u turn on scoring (u score a certain amount in each mission and at the end of the mission you unlock more achievements) activate skulls when u do the scoring. it helps alot when it comes to points.

Once you've picked it up you get an effect

Go to campaign lobby. Click 'X' to go on to options and click on skulls, activate whichever one you wan't to activate, go into campaign and have some fun.

you dont have to do anything......just drop it or smack an enemy with it........you dont even have to finish the level for the skull effect option to be saved...... except for the IWHBYD skull. You have to finish the level for that one to save
