Yes - and the parents/guardians if it can be reasonably shown that they should have done a better job raising the young lad/lassie.

If they are a threat to our society, then yes, they certainly should, but if it was a one off drunk and disorderly then no. The problem is though, putting minors in prison doesn't really help in some cases, they just learn off other prisoners, other forms of crime etc,

If the parents more latitude in correcting their kids (or if they really wanted to) we wouldn't have half the problems we do now. I'm not saying beating them, but a few smacks early in life does have a lasting effect. I had a book on Raising Children. I found it worked effectively when placed across their butts with a little force. You reap what you sow.

Of course. This should have been the case years ago and the crime rate wouldn't be so high today. Also the sentences should be served to the full no getting out early no matter what.

Mathew it was Thompson not Johnson, yes the little thugs should be locked up. I am sick of hearing about crimes committed by these yobs. At least when they are inside people are safe for a while.

I'm British and I know the case 'Johnson and Venables' and I think that if the minors are brave to kill an innocent, must be brave to go to the jail for life. It crimes was terrible.

For murder yes!! It really depends on whether they are a danger to society or not!! i dont generally agree with anyone being locked up unless they are a danger to society!!

Only those that commit crimes and break the law. Everyone must be treated equally.

Yes. If they're able to make the DECISION to commit significantly harmful crimes, their sentence should fit.
