I don't hate him. I've seen him for a long time and he's a great athlete. Problem to me is his character.. I'm fed up with his storylines, treating him like a heavyweight and basically being a mexican "piñata" to the big guys..
Rey Mysterio deserves a whole lot more than his current character. And back in IWA days, unmasked and in charge, and then ECW too, Rey Mysterio has proven to everyone that he can be pretty extreme if storylines alow him. So I think Vince screw up his character. The CHARACTER Rey Mysterio sucks now.. But the WRESTLER is great. I think Rey mysterio should go to ECW, back home ECW, where he can trully show all his potential.

I don't get it either, I think people started hating him when he started being pushed as a serious competitor, which I find hilarious, considering a majority of these people think AJ Styles should still be in the world title picture in TNA.
He really has lost a little step after his injury, but it's to be expected, and I think he's adapted to his in-ring handicap quite well. I think the pinnacle of his best was in WCW, though. In ECW, he was nothing but hurricanranas. Seriously enough, I've seen a match between him and Psicosis where Rey-Rey did NOTHING but hurricanranas.
I find it very contradictory that a majority of people who consider him a spot monkey say they liked him better back in the WCW and ECW days, because the only difference in Rey's format now is that he has LESS spots and more textbook ground game now. Fans are fickle, though

First of all..don't pay attention to people who insult opinions or are not respecting other users like "sumguy" or whatever...
Rey Mysterio used to be an awesome wrestler and a great high flyer.After his injury,he is not in the best shape of his life and also he had lots of emotional heartbeating moments the last 2 years(Guerrero and Benoit)...Also,the fans are not much excited anymore(including myself to be honest) cause his fans were always wanted him to become World Champion and they watched that like impossible.
By the time Rey reached that goal and shocked the world..there is not that much motivation for the fans to support him cause the biggest goal being reached on 2006...
I don't hate him for sure...i ahve atmost respect for him and his legacy..Though.i am not that much excited when i am seeing him and i believe that he is not that much entertaining.He was able to put a lot better shows the past years...
Also,he is a cruiserweight,i do agree to let him live his dream for once in his life and win the big one like it happend but i disagree to have him fight heavyweights throught the past 2 years...
He is one of the most obvious reasons why the WWE got rid of the cruiserweight division..The classic fans would love to see Noble,Moore and more to have battles and feuds for the Cruiserweight title.However,a huge part of the fans believe that the cruiserweight division is only Rey Mysterio...So why WWE continue to sell matches with no interest for the crowd and most likely for the kids who do not give a damn for Jamie Noble and other awesome cruiserweights??
To sum up,i believe that people do not hate Rey Mysterio,but over the years he had became less excited and some of them bashing him cause he is one of the reasons that Cruiserweights fell..Technicall is WWE's fault and not Rey's...
I believe that everyone respect him though for his contrinution,his style and his legacy...

He used to be good , until he won the WHC. It was downhill from there. He is not as good as he was in ECW and WCW and he has gotten slower. What used to be a good wrestler is now a mark wrestler.

He certainly fits the description (ala KISS) for a very showy eccentric. But that's typical of all "artists" who enjoy having a gimmick. Hate him? I had never heard of him before you asked the question.

His style doesn't appeal to me so much, and I think he's overrated. He doesn't belong in the World title picture.
