I know what the elements are I just don't know what animals stand for those elements, so if you could please tell me I'd appreciate it. :^)

For water I would either go with a species of shark, perhaps white or mako... or a toothed whale, dolphin or orca.

With earth a honey badger shot into my mind.

Fire, I would pick a tiger. The poem by Blake comes to mind.... tiger tiger burning bright.

Air, something like a falcon.

If you're looking for actually elemental creatures, the four generally accepted beings today (at least in my experience)are gnomes (earth), undines (water), salamanders (fire), and sylphs (air).

If you're talking physical animals being used as symbols for elements, there is no set four. Remember that symbols are always subjective. If they don't mean anything to you, they aren't symbolic.

There are various systems of correspondences as I'm sure you know. There are animals for each of the four apostles for instance in Christian symbolism (I have these somewhere but not to hand) I think in more magically based systems the salamander is generally accepted for fire, but the others are open to interpretation.

Whatever animals exhibit the same qualities as the element are acceptable to use. It's your choice.

For water, it's any type of sea animal (shark, whale, fish, dolphin, etc). For air it's a bird. I forget what earth and fire are, but for fire, a phoenix or tiger comes to mind and for earth a badger or groundhog (or something like that) comes to mind.

all animals are part of the fifth element... so any choice is a good/ bad as any other.
