For example to go from a point to another in the city, to go the mall, etc. How much it cost?

There is an extensive bus system; an elevated train (Metro-rail) and a free overhead trolley (Metro-mover) that covers most of downtown. Fare is $1.50 on bus or train plus $.50 transfer from bus to train or train to bus. You can buy multi-ride or monthly passes. Do a Yahoo or Google search for Miami-Dade transit for info, maps & schedules.

I swear to god all the people who answer miami questions aren't from here and are just using google.

The cheapest way would be buses. But unless you're staying on the beach the whole time, the bus system is the slowest (and at night time the most dangerous) way to travel. The metro only goes along one path into downtown and then breaks up to cover some of the small downtown area.

Taxi's are more expensive than other cities.

The safest and most affordable thing to do is to rent a car.

If you're only staying on south beach, the buses are safer and free. But if you're planning on going down to the everglades, you will HAVE to rent a car. It's about an hour and a half from south beach/downtown to the everglades.

I wish people would stop recommending the bus system. It's unreliable, dirty, and dangerous at night. The metro is fun but only runs until around midnight and only goes along US1.

!!! trust me. I'm from here. !!!

unfortunately there is not much public transportation in miami. there is the metrorail train, which doesn't go anywhere, or buses which are slow and possibly dangerous. it's really a car city, like los angeles.
