If a solution is holding all the solute that it can at that temperature, it is saturated.

If an organic compound has no double or triple bonds it is considered saturated.

To be saturated is to be filled up.

it is the maximum amount of absorption of one element into another.. such as water into a sponge.

Once saturation is reached additional amounts of the absorbed material/element are not accepted and either run off or pile up.
