I, Robot question?

Question

What was that whole thing about Sarah, the 12 year old who wanted to be a dentist? How'd he know her? Why does he have a necklace with her name? And he's half robot because he was severely injured from the car accident? Please explain!

The robot saved him in the car crash because there was a greater chance of his survival than the robot going out of its way to save the girl. Thats why he has a hatred of the robots, because they only calculate and go by numbers. Im sure he talked to the other parent (Dad died with Sarah) about Sarah and who she was as a person.

Watching someone die is disturbing. He would have rather died and had took the chance that if the robot did save her, she could live a normal life. He probably has something called survivor guilt, feeling that he should have died instead of a little girl.

The injuries came from the accident im sure.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but as I recall, he didn't know her before the accident. The 2 cars were involved in an accident and the cars ended up in the water. He wanted to save the girl, but the robot pulled him out of the car, leaving Sarah to die. He received the "robot" arm due to his injuries, and, because he was bitter and traumatized by the accident, he kept the girl's necklace as a reminder. I don't think they said how he got the necklace - presumably one of her family members gave it to him after the accident. The accident was also the reason that he disliked robots. The robot saved the person with the greatest odds of surviving (Will Smith), but Smith thought that the girl should have been saved.

It was a car accident. He saw her by her on the freeway and they dropped in the water. And Will was trying to tell the robot to save the little girl but not him. But they saved him anyway. and he had gotten something on his arm from the robot. and he regrets it in the whole movie. So he takes it out on the other robots. Hope that helped!
