I told my son, just a few minutes ago, I'm going to make a Republican out of you whether you like it or not (teasing him), and he said back to me, "well, why would I want to be a Democrat, I mean Liberal, anyway? I want to be an American! A Republican!"
Yes, he said this LOUDLY, and assuredly! Why do you think he said that?

I ask you all kindly to report Stwie Griffen for his unfounded, ludicrous, and abusive words along with me! Thanks.

You have brought him up right! You have explained that the major differences in conservatives and liberals is the drive to succeed, and the need to be cared for by others.
By instilling these values of family, the work ethic and morals, this young man will grow up to be somebody that will be respected by his peers and others.
Bringing up a child the right way is hard work and it sounds like you have done a decent job in raising that child. Keep up the good work.
It is tough to raise a child today, but so worth it, when it is done right!

Sounds as if you are on the right track! I've been teaching my children as well. Basic history lessons such as Lincoln was a Republican and the democrats were all FOR slavery. That the people who whine about having lost just under 4,000 in four years of war have no idea about the true cost: in the 1st Battle of the Somme in WW I, in the first hour of that battle, the Brit.s lost 200,000 men and in the battle for Iwo Jima in WW II, we lost 6,821 men in just 36 days.. I'd say your son has the gift of discernment. You should be proud!

Because he knows what the right theology is for a society to be able function properly is. And a Progressive Liberal theology is not good for any society. Other then a Sodom and Gomorrah society. After all Liberals stand for every immoral issue alive. And he also understands that Liberals generate the exact opposite of their stated intent.

I'm so glad you asked this question. It gives me a chance to relate one of the funniest stories.
A couple years ago, I was at a friends house. My friend was explaining to his little six year old son about "hate crimes". He patiently explained that hate crimes cannot be tolerated, and that people should not say horrible things about another person.
About an hour later, my friend was pointing out a neighbor's house, and when I asked who lived there, he said, "A married couple, a couple of Howard Dean-style Liberals."
Just at that moment, his son walked into the room, looked at his father with disappointment and disapproval, and with the child-like innocence that only someone so young could possibly muster, said, "Daddy! That's a hate crime".
Isn't that adorable?

Because his only ten and his beloved father/mother is a Republican?
I'm sure your son cannot fully understand current events, political parties and ideologies. He just wants to make his father/mother proud.
Either consciously or subconsciously you've been instilling in him that being a Democratic, a liberal is wrong.
Something your against. So an reality what he was truly saying was "well, why would I want to be something you, my father/mother, are against. I love you and want to be like you"
Hopefully when his older he'll think for himself.
Even if he does decide on 'staying' a Republican it should be of his own decision.

Undoubtedly it's because you've kept him in the poisonous womb that you call "home schooling" and haven't exposed him to any ideas other than your own. Intellectual abuse should be added to the list of activities that are punishable under child protection laws.
In any event, your moronic anecdote is fake. If I had a nickle for every "Mommy, why do libruls hate America" stories I've seen posted in Yahoo political forums I'd be as rich as Dick Cheney.

I think he said that only because he's reflecting your opinion, which I'm guessing is the only point of view he hears. I know that when I was ten, I hadn't developed my own opinions on much of anything political.

Gee. I wonder. I hope you corrected him and pointed out that democrats are patriotic Americans too and in fact there are more registered democrats than republicans. What was his reaction when you said that?
