i don't think its a sin but that doesn't make it right. especially if you know that it can cause serious birth defects.

In some religions, it is forbidden. There may be scientific basis for this ban. There is great danger that children produced by first cousins could have some genetic flaw, like some sort of mutation.

1- Your cousin from your uncle ?
2- your cousin from uncle and aunt ?
Well , I don't care about you guys , but I am marrying my First cousin , Her mother is my mother's sister , and her father is my father's brother ... We are deep in love , and I think nothing can stand between us ... !
A bit complicated huh ? but since my father and mother were relatives and so were her mother and father and since We both are not mentally of physically retarded , I can't see any reason not to marry her !
p.s. Ofcourse I will make medical examinations before the marriage just to make sure my earlier sons won't come to life disabled -mentally and physically-
So Calm down , there is nothing wrong with marrying cousins

no its not a sin in muslims it is said that you cant marry any one who is related to your father or mother say like uncles aunts or grand parents but you can marry your cousins

I think "first cousin" falls within the prohibited degree of kinship in most societies.

contrary to popular belief it doesn't cause birth defects nor has it ever proven to be damaging for offspring. there's no scientific evidence or children with birth defects as a result of having parents who are first cousins.it's just one of those things people think is rational to believe even though it's totally untrue.
