Ok whenever the people across the street, when theyre wireless internet connection shows up on my compuer, it wont ever let me connect to my neighbors connection (the one i use) (even when i have enough bars to connect)like right now i can use it, but theyre connection isnt showing up on my list of network connections, but whenever it does i cant connect to my neighbors? why is it doing this and how can i fix it? please help me :) (i have a windows vista)

no im not talking about connecting to there internet. i get my internet from "linksys" but then when "whitley" shows up on the network list... i cant connect to "linksys" anymore.. they dont ask for a password but "whitley" does.

Ok so when "Whitley" comes on your "Linksys" disappears! If I read this correctly. The problem is that they have a stronger signal than you do. Old MacDude is correct. you are both on th e SAME wireless channel. SInce you have a linksys and it still says linksys, you are on channel 6. Log in to your router, change it to channel 1 (change the name at the same time from Linksys to yours or something besides linksys) You then will not be dumped when they come on because the two channels will now be different!

Is your neighbor's networking kit up? pc Command Line: click [initiate] - [Run...] - style: cmd, press [enter] on the instantaneous (c:.....>) style: ipconfig /launch, press [enter] on the instantaneous (c:.....>) style: ipconfig /renew, press [enter] try: connect with information superhighway. If fulfillment: Repeat Steps after pc Command Line on your different computers. If NO fulfillment: on the instantaneous (c:.....>) style: ipconfig /all, press [enter] If IP handle == 0.0.0.0 your pc isn't connecting on your neighbor's router. An IP handle (192.168.x.x) ability you're connecting to a router. The router isn't connecting to the information superhighway. Modem or broadband (DSL/cable) may well be down.

Their wireless connection is safeguarded against other people using it. You would have to know their password or mac address to connect to it and I'm sure they won't tell you what it is.

Log into your router and change the broadcast channel - sounds like both routers are using the same one in too close proximity.

they have a password on their internet... lol thats why you can connect to theirs.
