I just came from that site "post secrets." Where a bunch of stranger send anonymous letters about their "deepest confessions." Reading some of the confessions on there and just other things these days. I have to wonder, are people too honest today? We're a very OPEN society. Especially with the internet being so endless and anonymous. And I gotta admit. . . their a lot of questionable people out there. Really says a lot. . .
Are we too much of an open society?

I wonder just how honest people truly are these days. A good number of the things one hears or reads on the internet or in the media is simply crap. I'd like to think society as a whole is moving in a truthful direction but sometimes one just can't be sure.

There is such a thing as being too honest. People talk to much and voice opinions when they should be quiet, but then there's honest citizens that get arrested for being honest. My last question was about the guy in the subway finding the wallet. A couple of years ago, I recieved my bank statement in the mail. Mixed in mine was another womans. I looked her name up in the phone book, called her to tell her that I would drop it off at her house. Honest? Yes,...but I shouldn't of done that. She called the cops on me and told them that she had money missing out of her account!!!! After explaining to the cops what had happened, I went to the bank and they verified that no money was taken from her. They told me not to be overly honest and if it happened again, to bring the statement directly to the bank. WOW!! I won't help anyone like that again!! But yes, people are overly honest and it gets them in trouble,... in a lot of ways.

Since the internet is basically an annonymous forum we have no way of telling if someone is telling the truth.I think most people on the web are good people but some are suspect .I think that while we enjoy the fact we can bare our soul because we are annonymous I think most of us exercise a little discretion on what facts we want to disclose.I think in face to face conversations we are more reserved in what we reveal about ourselves.

I went and looked and was only on for a second or two. I was not the impressed with it, some were very gross.

to a point...i think a lot of people like to say things about his/her secret life to others on here because they dont have to face their contacts in real life..thats why some people post bad@$$ screen names...they think it impresses others on this forum...i dont say to much about my private life...but i do more on here than others in my real life...some people also like to hear as much as they can from their contacts...
