I look at the 2 main contenders...

since a vote for a little guy, in my opinion, is a wasted vote when the main 2 have poured so much money and pressure into it...

Then I try to look over their views to try and sort the BS from what they really, truly, believe.

Then I look at the state of the world.

Then I decide which one will jack-up our country LESS then the other...

Like the last time... Bush vs. Kerry...

I looked at them both and looked at the world and came to the decision that if Kerry were to be in office it would have been slightly worse then if Bush were put back in...

I don't agree with 98% of what Bush does/says/thinks but I also didn't agree with 99% of what Kerry did/said/thought...

That 1% difference made me vote for the lesser of 2 evils...

I hate to say it but I agree with the voting episode of South Park... It is ALWAYS between a douche and a turd...

Or what Lewis Black said... The choice is between 2 bowls of S#!T. The only difference is the smell.

I hope, wish, prey that SOMEDAY I will be able to vote for someone... ANYONE... that I actually AGREE WITH and have confidence in...

Having to vote for the person that I think will screw up slightly less then the other is a very disheartening act to me.

I can only hope that we all, collectively, pull our heads from where they currently are – Firmly wedged between our cheeks – and stop choosing what we do because of the distinction of “Democrat” and “Republican”.

Just because I CURRENTLY find myself agreeing slightly more with the Republican side doesn’t make me a Republican…

Just because someone had decided that they are a Dem or a Rep doesn’t mean that you should ONLY vote for “Your side” no matter what the view of the person is!

People that ONLY voted for Bush because he is a Republican and people that ONLY voted for Kerry because he was a Democrat should be sent for electro shock therapy!

Voting blindly because your fanaticism has convinced you that “You” are RIGHT and “They” are WRONG is no way to make ANY decision, least of all who will be running our country!

People that have been THAT brainwashed don’t belong to a political party, they belong to a CULT.

We need to decide these things on the ISSUES… not because “Your side” tells you who to vote for!!

When I look at the next election I can honestly say that I have no idea if I will vote for the Democrat or the Republican…

As a Female I WANTED to vote for the FEMALE but I disagree with her views and I believe that she would be BAD FOR AMERICA.

If I ONLY voted for her because it would feel good to vote for a Chick I would be doing my Country a GREAT DISSERVICE!

If I were black and I ONLY voted for Obama BECAUSE HE IS BLACK I would also be doing my country a GREAT DISSERVICE…

But I know that a LOT of people won’t even look at what either of them actually believe and will vote for them only because of outside appearances…

There are some stupid people out there that would still vote for Hilary or Obama even if they were pro-Nazi or pro-cannibalism JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK OR FEMALE…

That is no way to choose a leader…

I know now that either Obama or Hilary will be the democratic nominee so I am learning what I can about their views…

I don’t know who the republican nominee will be but when I do I will learn what I can about THEIR VIEWS TOO…

I refuse to be blinded by the fanaticism of the extremists… I will make THIS choice like I make ALL CHOICES IN MY LIFE… Based on Logic and the FACTS… Not the opinions of those that lead the cults of the Left and the Right.

I've never been a single-issue voter. After all, there's more than one issue the president needs to deal with.

I try to find candidates I agree with on most important issues -- which is usually easy during the primaries, but I have to go to third party during the general election.

Currently, I support Edwards: war and torture, health care, environment, rule of law, goverment that serves the people not just people with money. I'm liking him very much.

Wow, I don't believe I could isolate only one issue as a reason "why to vote for," to be honest. I hold to a core belief. That alone is made up from a list of multiples. And if one of the core values are missing, then I will not vote.

But to trim my expectations narrowly for as for why "to vote". I can not do that. I am too complicated, and so is the job that I hire these men/women for. Thanx for the opportunity address that.

I ask myself this? Which candidate will be more likely to be able to work successfully with the congress in getting the multitude of issues solved that are necessary for us to improve our economy and all related social concerns without jeopardizing our security, individual rights, or long term goals?

In the realization that no candidate is perfect, I think the one most likely to put us on the right path would have to be someone who is both intelligent, and honest. The ability to work with congressional members on both sides of the fence is paramount because if he can't, then he won't be able to get anything done regardless of how good his ideas may sound.

Will the president do what is best for the country or for himself/herself? This, I believe, is a big issue and I have a hard time finding someone who fits the bill.

The most important issue would be the future of the United States in general - do we have a bright and prosperous future ahead of us?

The main job of a president is to be loyal to his country and defend it's citizens.

That they come from a poor or at least lower middle class background so they understand what it is to barely get by. We Americans need health care and elder care so badly and the prosperous Presidents just think we can run to the bank and withdraw whatever we need! I know people who have never had a bank account because you need to Open it with $100. They have to use that money for rent or food. It's sad.

Character, by far. That one qualification would disqualify Hillary and probably Edwards. Obama seems to have character, but lacks experience and knowledge.
