Although there are a few well-off writers, the majority of writers are not rich and they aren't being paid a fair amount for their work. They are on strike until a fair contract is negotiated.

They seem to be wanting more money but for my part, they can stay on strike, they couldn;t write anyway, tv is not entertaining any more and thats the writers fault.

They want a higher percentage of revenue from DVD's and Internet media. Right now, writers only get about 3 cents from every DVD sold and they want more.

Because they are not getting paid for DVD releases of their work. The studios are greedy ba...... and are ripping them off and banking all the money!

more money i would guess. and given some of the crap they write they should be sacked. some of those American sit Com's are dire.
